KyphosisWhat you need to know:In the rare situation that kyphosis is congenital, there’s little that can be done with any form of complementary therapy, although massage or remedial osteopathic or chiropractic treatment may help preserve the maximum possible mobility in the rest of the spine.By far the most common cause, however, is osteoporosis. If either of your parents or grandparents - male or female - have signs of dowager’s hump, it’s likely that you, too, will be at greater risk of osteoporosis. This condition is largely preventable if you start taking care of your bones early enough. See osteoporosis in the bone and joint section. |
