Pruritus

What you need to know:

As pruritis is often caused by infections and other diseases, the underlying causes need to be treated by conventional medicine - particularly if there’s a suspicion of liver disease, Iron deficiency, thyroid problems or kidney failure.

Once that diagnosis is made and treatment has begun, these natural remedies and lifestyle changes can reduce that irritating itching:
  • Using aloe vera gel on the affected patches of skin
  • Putting three chamomile tea bags in your bath every day
  • Not getting too hot in the sun or in an over-heated house
  • Wearing loose-fitting cotton underwear
It’s also essential to avoid having hot baths, using perfumed on medicated soaps or powerful deodorants.
