Polyps

What you need to know:

Natural remedies can only help provide temporary relief from the symptoms of this condition, though some therapies may have long-term benefits.

Useful herbs to take as pills or use in cooking include:
  • Cinnamon
  • Horseradish
  • Ginger
  • Chillies
  • Garlic
They all help relieve congestion.

For inhalations, try these essential oils:

  • Eucalyptus
  • Tea tree
  • Rosemary
The same oils used in a fragrancer at night will improve the quality of sleep, and a compress of lavender oil and warm water over the nose will relieve congestion.

Other useful advice:

Acupuncture may help to relieve the symptoms, but the best therapy is Naturopathy. A naturopath is most likely to use nutritional therapy, including short periods of fasting, which can sometimes help reduce the size of polyps.
