Polyps
Nasal polyps are simply swellings of mucous membrane, often arising in one of the sinuses, which protrude into the nasal cavity and cause blockage of the air way. They usually occur in people with chronic rhinitis as a result of allergy, and while they’re rare in children they are not infrequent in adolescents. They may be helped by nasal decongestants containing steroids, but some require surgical removal. They may, however, recur.
