Obstruction

There are no natural remedies or alternative therapies to treat this condition, but it’s important to prevent an occurrence by ensuring that the child or teenager’s diet contains adequate amounts of bulk and soluble fibre.

Dietary changes that may be beneficial:

Eat more:
  • Wholegrain cereals
  • Oats
  • Apple
  • Pears
  • Root vegetables
  • Green vegetables
  • Dried beans
It’s also important not to eat foods enriched with bran or add bran to their food - it’s extremely irritant to a healthy gut and entirely inappropriate to this condition.
