Septicaemia

What you need to know:

This is a severe illness, but looking after the child’s immune system will work in conjunction with conventional medicine. You can do this by giving him or her more:
  • Citrus fruit - particularly the pith of oranges and apples - apricots, cherries, tomatoes and pawpaws, They’re rich in Vitamin C and bioflavonoids
  • Liver, oily fish, eggs and chicken for their high vitamin B content
  • Safflower oil, olive oil, unsalted peanut butter - they’ll love you for that - and avocadoes for vitamin E
  • Live bio-yoghurt for vitamin B
  • Green tea, a powerful anti-oxidant
