Endometriosis

What you need to know:

This is a serious condition that leads to painful and heavy periods and frequently to infertility. There are no natural remedies or complementary therapies that can be used to treat it, but very specific dietary regimes, including periods of fasting, may relieve the symptoms. You shouldn’t try to do this yourself, particularly when the patient is a young woman - it needs to be done under the supervision of a registered naturopath and should never be regarded as an alternative to conventional medicine.

However, you should encourage the young sufferer to give up all coffee - including decaffeinated.

The most useful Supplements:

The following supplements are also worth trying:
  • Vitamin E
  • Iron
  • Evening primrose oil
