Endometritis

Endometritis is infection of the lining of the womb, either as a result of sexually transmitted disease, when the agent is usually chlamydia, or as a result of infection introduced during surgery or by the insertion of an intra-uterine contraceptive device. There is lower abdominal pain and fever, and often pain on intercourse. Treatment with antibiotics may be effective.
