Thymoma (tumours)

Tumours of the thymus are rare in childhood, and usually develop in adulthood. They may be benign, causing symptoms as a result of local pressure on the organs in the neck, or malignant. Malignant thymomas vary in aggressiveness of their invasion of surrounding tissues and their spread to other organs.
