Throat

The throat extends from the back of the nose, past the back of the mouth, to the top of the oesophagus which leads to the stomach, and the trachea, which leads to the lungs. It is also called the pharynx, and is divided into 3 parts. The naso-pharynx is that part of the throat behind the nose, the oro-pharynx lies at the back of the mouth, and the laryngo-pharynx lies behind the voice box.
