Supplements MSM - (Methylsulfonylmethane)
What Is It?
MSM is a naturally occurring
molecule that is formed in the atmosphere and falls to the earth primarily in
rain-water. Plants then absorb MSM along with the water and it is stored in
the cell tissue. MSM is rich in the mineral Sulphur and has been investigated
for its use in joint health.
Supplementation
- MSM is solely available as a food supplement and people often
take it to help with degenerative joint disease, such as Osteoarthritis.
- Supplements are available in tablets, capsules or powder and are
sometimes combined with Glucosamine and Chondroitin sulphate.
Cautions
- Generally, there
are no side effects or contra-indications from using MSM supplements. Some people
may be slightly sensitive to the Sulphur it contains, which may cause mild digestive
discomfort.
