Lymphoma

Lymphoma is cancer of lymphoid tissue - such as our lymph nodes, which are there to help fight infection. This can arise in the stomach, because there is lymphoid tissue under the mucosa - called Mucosa Associated Lymphoid Tissue, or MALT. This presents as indigestion (dyspepsia) or bleeding. It is usually a Non-Hodgkins type (see the blood and circulation in the chest cavity section) and may respond to chemotherapy.
