Sinusitis

Sinusitis is inflammation of the sinuses, usually as a complication of an infection in the nose blocking the drainage of the sinus. If the sinus itself becomes infected there is acute pain and tenderness over the sinus - above the eyes if it's the frontal sinuses, over the cheek if it's a maxillary sinus. Decongestants may help, as may inhaling steam. Antibiotics may be necessary.
