Deviation of the Septum

Deviation of the nasal septum may cause blockage of a nostril sufficient to interfere with the passage of air. This may be just the way we’re made, or it may occur following trauma to the nose where the bone is fractured. A fracture of the nose may be reduced immediately after it happens (i.e. the nose is pushed straight again) but if there is a time delay so that the nose swells it is necessary to wait until all the swelling has resolved before attempting to reduce it.
