Sarcoidosis

Sarcoidosis is a condition which can affect any of the organ systems of the body (from the skin to the brain) of unknown cause. Swellings - called granulomas -develop in the lymph nodes and other tissues. When this affects the lungs it can go on to develop fibrosis, and increasing breathlessness. Most cases are mild and go on to resolve completely over a period of time without any treatment.
