Allergic Alveolitis

Allergic alveolitis is a condition where sensitised individuals inhale allergens which produce fever, shortness of breath and a cough, usually some time after exposure. There are a number of classical examples, such as farmers who become sensitised to the spores of some moulds, which produces farmer's lung, or bird fanciers who become sensitised either to feathers or bird droppings thus producing bird fancier's lung. The treatment is to avoid the substance to which they have become sensitised.
