Bladder Diverticulum

Bladder diverticulum is an out-pouching of the bladder wall, usually as a result of chronic low-grade obstruction to urinary outflow because of an enlarged prostate gland, which occurs in most men over the age of 40 . The diverticulum may not empty during urination, but may empty into the bladder once the bladder has emptied, causing a desire to urinate very shortly after having done so. It may be a cause of repeated urinary tract infections.
