Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI)

Repetitive Strain Injury is the term used to describe conditions which arise as a result of repeated use of a joint in a position which lies outside its normal range of movements. While any joint can be affected, it most commonly involves those of the hand and thumb in people who spend lots of time working at keyboards that are at the wrong angle for the particular individual. While pain-killers, splints, physiotherapy and rest may be effective, change of posture (or keyboard, or job) might be the only solution.
