Kaposi's sarcoma

Kaposi’s sarcoma is a purplish nodule or papule, usually on the lower legs or feet but occasionally affecting the face and the mouth. It is a malignant tumour containing spindle shaped cells and blood vessels. While it is rare in the Western World, and usually slow-growing, in patients with HIV it may be widespread and affect internal organs, making treatment difficult.
