Recurrent dislocation

Recurrent dislocation of the patella is a condition that more commonly affects young women who are slightly knock-kneed. The patella slips to the outer side of the knee causing it to give way. Physiotherapy to strengthen the muscles holding the patella straight may help. If not surgical correction may be necessary.
