Plantar fasciitis

Plantar fasciitis is inflammation of the connective tissue running from the heel to support the bones of the foot. There is pain at the bottom of the heel on standing or walking. This may be persistent (because the inflammation is exacerbated by weight bearing). It may need prolonged courses of anti-inflammatory agents, together with physiotherapy and occasionally injection of steroids.
