The following exercise might also help:
All chemists sell special pads which have a loop that goes over the toe with a pad to sit under the ball of the foot. They’re hardly noticeable under your tights or socks.

It also helps to wear good quality trainers which have high-impact absorbing properties - or you can buy impact-absorbing in-soles to put inside your shoes. They’re available at all good sports shops.
