Stokes - Adams Attacks

Stokes - Adams attacks, where the patient suffers palpitations, goes pale, and falls down unconscious, then flushes and recovers in a matter of seconds, are due to transient arrhythmias where the cardiac output suddenly falls. They may be a complication of complete heart block, and may need a pacemaker to prevent them.
