Pulmonary Hypertension

Pulmonary Hypertension is the condition where there is elevated pressure in the circulation in the lungs. This may be due to chronic lung disease (see the lungs) or because of heart disease such as septal defects, or it may arise as a primary condition, where the cause is unknown. It precipitates heart failure and severe shortness of breath. In chronic cases oxygen therapy is helpful.
