Precocious puberty

Precocious Puberty in the male can be defined as the development of secondary sexual characteristics before the age of 9. Secondary sexual characteristics are pubic and axillary (armpit) hair, testicular and penile enlargement and a growth spurt. It is less common than in females, and more likely to be due to an abnormal cause - either a brain tumour, over-active adrenal glands or a hormone-secreting tumour of the testicles.
