Peas are good for treating and preventing disorders of the Digestive System and the Nervous System
They are good for disorders like stress, tension and digestive problems.
Peas are the most popular of all vegetables eaten in Britain and nutritionally the fact that most of them are frozen is not a problem as the best quality of varieties are frozen in the field at the time of picking.
They are an excellent source of thiamin (vitamin B1) - 150g supply more than a day’s needs - Folic acid and useful amounts of vitamins A and C. They also provide protein, but need to be combined with cereals like rice, pasta or bread to make complete protein. All forms of peas and chick peas are excellent sources of fibre .
Mange tout are similar in composition to green peas but eating the entire pod increases the amounts of Vitamin A and C.
