What you need to know.

The following may help to speed healing and/or recovery time:

Nutritional supplements that could help.

  • Bioflavanoids
  • 1gm per day
  • Rutin
  • 500mg to 1,000mg per day
  • Vitamin C
  • 4gm to 10gm per day for long-term use
  • Vitamin C
  • 0.5gm per kg of bodyweight per day for acute attacks

    Herbs which may help.

  • Blueberry
  • 1.5ml or 1gm 3 times per day
  • Hawthorn
  • 1.5ml or 1gm 3 times per day

    Dietary changes that may be beneficial.

    Many people with glaucoma will have food sensitivities which can lead to higher intra-occular pressure. It is best to identify these problem foods and avoid them.

    Other useful advice.

    Try to follow a low sodium diet. This will provide overall benefits to blood pressure as well as that behind the eye.
