Entropion

Entropion is where the eyelid turns inwards, towards the eyeball. It is caused by spasm of the muscle that closes the eye, or by scarring of the conjunctiva. The in-turned eyelashes may rub against and irritate the eye, causing abrasions. Surgery may be necessary. Temporary relief may be gained by using plaster to pull the eyelid down slightly.
