Blind Spot

Blind spot is a part of the visual field that we cannot see. This is because there are no rods and cones where the nerve fibres leave the retina to form the optic nerve - a point called the optic disc. The blind spot is usually not noticeable to us. It may be enlarged in certain conditions such as optic neuritis.
