Benign Positional Vertigo

Benign positional vertigo is a condition where the symptoms of vertigo only occur when the head is in one particular position. It often only happens when the patient is lying in bed. It is thought to be due to small pieces of calcium affecting one of the semi-circular canals. The symptoms can be eased by manipulating the position of the patient until the calcium is deposited elsewhere in the labyrinth.
