Large Intestine

The Large intestine runs from the caecum, which is in the lower right side of the abdomen and which has the appendix attached, to the anus. It is divided into the ascending colon on the right side of the abdomen, the transverse colon which runs from right to left, the descending and sigmoid colon, and the rectum.
