Blood is much more than the red cells that we see when we bleed. It is actually a very complex and sensitive medium of transport, communication and support. Each of us has about 70 millilitres of blood per kilogram of weight (85 millilitres in the newborn, where the circulation is a relatively larger part of the body mass) which means that a 70-kilo adult has around five litres. | |||
