Lymphoma

Lymphoma is cancer of the lymphoid tissue. This consists of the lymph nodes, which are distributed throughout the body and are found in groups in the groin and the armpit, as well as the neck, and which swell in response to infection; the spleen; the tonsils and, in the young, the thymus (a gland at the front of the chest which shrinks after adolescence). The function of lymphoid tissue, amongst other things, is to produce lymphocytes to help our defences.
